How to build a portfolio website

Name the projects, what each one is, and how someone should reach you. Build3 builds the pages and a preview. Publish when the work is the first thing a visitor sees.

  • No subscription
  • Credits do not expire
  • A link when you publish

12:00What you get

The work, then a way to ask

A portfolio is a set of projects and one clear next step.

  • Projects, not a wall of text

Name a handful of pieces, what each one is, and the order they should appear. A grid is enough for the first version.

  • A short bio

Who you are, where you work, and the kind of job you want next. Two short paragraphs beat a life story.

  • A way to get in touch

Ask for a form: name, email, and what they want. Saved requests need the database unlock. The price is on the pricing page.

  • Photos you can swap

Describe the look if you do not have files yet. Replace the pictures after, in the same project.

  • Fine on a phone

People open portfolios from a link on their phone. Check the grid at a narrow width before you publish.

  • A link with your name on it

Publish to a build3.site address. Your own domain can replace it later.

12:00How it works

From a sentence to a link

You describe it, look at the preview, and publish when it is the one you want people to see.

  1. 01

    List the projects

Five is enough. A title and one sentence each.

  2. 02

    Read it as a stranger

If you cannot tell what you do in one scroll, ask for a clearer first screen.

  3. 03

    Publish the link

Send the address. Update the live site when you add a new project.

12:00Prompts

Start from one of these

Change the one that is close, then start building. The button opens a new account. It does not send the prompt for you.

12:00Questions

Before you start

Can I use my own photos?

Yes. Describe the layout first if the files are not ready, then add the real images in a later prompt.

How do I pay?

You buy credits and spend them as you build. Nothing renews each month, and unused credits stay on the account. Pack sizes and what a prompt costs are on the pricing page. A small change costs less than starting over.

Can I use my own domain?

The build3.site link is included. Connecting a domain you already own is a separate unlock on that project. The price is on the pricing page. Build3 does not sell domains. You add the records at the registrar, and the free link keeps working too.

Describe the work.

The projects, a short bio, and how someone should reach you.
