How to build an arcade game

One action, a thing to avoid, and a score that goes up. Build3 builds a round you can play, then publishes a link.

  • No subscription
  • Credits do not expire
  • A link when you publish

12:00What you get

One button, one score

An arcade round should make sense in the first ten seconds.

  • One action

Tap, click, or press space. That action is the whole control scheme at the start.

  • Something that ends the run

A crash, a miss, or a timer. Say how many lives, or that one hit is the end.

  • A score

Distance, points, or time. Show it during the run and again at the end.

  • Restart without a reload

A button or the same tap starts the next run.

  • A board of best scores

A best score on this device is enough. Names and scores for everyone need the database unlock. The price is on the pricing page.

  • A link in a chat

Publish to a build3.site address. Someone can play it from the message.

12:00How it works

From a sentence to a link

You describe it, look at the preview, and publish when it is the one you want people to see.

  1. 01

Name the action and the fail

What you press, and what kills the run.

  2. 02

    Play three runs

If it is unfair, say what felt wrong.

  3. 03

    Publish

Send the link when a run is fun for a minute.

12:00Prompts

Start from one of these

Change the one that is close, then start building. The button opens a new account. It does not send the prompt for you.

  • Jump

    Start building
  • Catch

  • Dodge

  • Shoot

12:00Included

What the project comes with

  • A round you can play immediately
  • One clear action
  • A score and a restart
  • Touch and keyboard
  • A build3.site link
  • A shared score list after the database unlock
  • Your own domain after you unlock it

12:00Questions

Before you start

Can I add sound?

Yes. Get a round that plays first, then ask for sound on the jump and on the crash.

How do I pay for the build?

You buy credits and spend them as you build. Nothing renews each month, and unused credits stay on the account. Pack sizes and what a prompt costs are on the pricing page. A small change costs less than starting over.

Can I use my own domain?

The build3.site link is included. Connecting a domain you already own is a separate unlock on that project. The price is on the pricing page. Build3 does not sell domains. You add the records at the registrar, and the free link keeps working too.

Describe the arcade game.

The action, the thing that ends the run, and how the score works.
