Database

A brochure, a menu, or a game that only remembers a score on this device does not need a database. Saved orders, logins, and a shared leaderboard do.

When to turn it on

Turn it on when the project has to keep something after the visitor closes the tab, or share it with someone else.

  • Orders and checkout records.
  • Booking requests, applications, and RSVPs you need to see later.
  • Accounts, so someone can sign in on another phone.
  • A game leaderboard, or progress that should follow the player.

When you can skip it

A page of text, a menu, a portfolio, and a game that only stores a best score in that browser do not need it. Say so if the chat offers accounts you did not ask for.

Anything saved only in that browser can disappear if they clear the browser or switch phones. The chat will say so when that is what the project is doing.

How to turn it on

Open the Database tab in the project. On a phone it is under Tools. Press Activate database. It is a one-time unlock. The price is on the pricing page.

After it is on, ask in the chat for the accounts or the saved records you want. Activating the database does not by itself design the form. The next prompt does that.

What you should see

The Database tab is where the project’s saved rows live. You read them there. You do not export the project to another database host to “really” save them.

If an order only appears on the device that placed it, the database is not in use for that order yet. Activate it, then ask the chat to save orders there.
